EnterDAO – Providing A Gateway to the Metaverse
Over the last few months to a year, we have seen many different projects emerge with the grand intention of bringing the metaverse to the world. Or more so, to lay the foundations required in order to one day fulfill this grand vision which we all label as a ‘true metaverse’. We have seen the likes of Decentraland and The Sandbox, two open virtual worlds where users are now able to create a completely digital economy built entirely on Ethereum. These new projects are able to harness the power of tokenised assets that are in high demand and use them to turn a profit for its users. We have other blockchain games such as Gods Unchained or Axie Infinity, one of which is quite literally providing early users with the equivalent of a full-time salary in the traditional world.
So, we now have these great games that have already laid down the groundwork for what we want to build towards in the future, as well as proving to us that by using Ethereum technology, the ‘metaverse’ that we all envision is actually very much achievable in the first place and coming closer to a reality with each passing day. That brings me to the topic of discussion today. A new protocol called ‘EnterDAO’, a protocol that quite literally is aiming to build a gateway to the metaverse.
But Don’t We Already Have a Gateway?
I think at the moment with all of this innovation going on within the space, and all of these new and remarkable games emerging, most people would say that we already have a gateway to the metaverse. Particularly through games like Decentraland, The Sandbox, Axie Infinity and so on. But do we truly have a gateway? I really don’t think that we do, not yet anyway. Why I say this is because what we do have, are several different points of entry to the metaverse. We have all of these great games within this new space, however we have to go through other various avenues in order to access them. EnterDAO aims to solve this through its recently announced ‘MetaPortal’ project.
MetaPortal – Accessing the Metaverse, Made Easy!
Just before I dive into the details, I would like to note that MetaPortal is actually the second product that was recently unveiled by EnterDAO. The first is actually known as project LandWorks, which will act as a marketplace where digital landholders will be able to either lend or rent land, essentially breaking down the financial entry barrier preventing newer users from accessing digital land.
As much as I would like to talk about LandWorks, today’s newsletter will focus mostly on MetaPortal, as it is the product that I find most intriguing due to its very unique and ambitious use case. In a nutshell, and to put it simply, MetaPortal will provide users with the means to access their favourite blockchain based games through one single and easily accessible interface, or in this case, a portal. As this is an extremely ambitious project, you can imagine how hard a project like this is to build, it has never been done before so this is all new territory for anyone working on this, and it’s going to take time. The official launch is currently set for early Q1 2022.
I guess this now brings me back to my original point, EnterDAO is effectively taking the next step within this industry and building a way for its users to be able to interact with blockchain gaming in the same way that they would normally do so in the traditional gaming world, both efficiently and completely hassle free. This to me completely represents true innovation within this space, and more so, this also strongly contributes to the overall health and direction that this industry needs to take in order to fulfill our grand vision of creating a full-fledged metaverse.
The fact that we are building this kind of product right now just reiterates to me just how early we are in this industry. We are still only just barely scratching the surface of what we can achieve using Ethereum technology. So, strap in people, it is going to be a very interesting next couple of years.
If you want to keep up to date with this new and promising project, feel free to follow them on Twitter and jump into their Discord server. The team are always happy to help out and answer any questions that you might have about the project.
Thanks for reading everyone!
